Nashville is home to a life-sized replica of the Greek Parthenon in Athens, Greece, including a life-sized statue of Athena. The Tennessee Parthenon is located in Centennial Park, Nashville’s premier urban park, and is one of the top tourist attractions in the city.
The replicas were originally built for Tennessee’s Centennial Exposition back in 1897. The Parthenon also houses an art museum that displays a permanent collection of 63 different paintings dating back to the19th and 20th centuries. The art museum also displays a number of temporary exhibits throughout the year.
